Alumni Faheem Majeed (00') is an artist, curator, and educator whose work fosters community and institutional dialogue through collaboration. He earned his BFA from Howard University and MFA from the University of Illinois, Chicago, where he is now an Assistant Professor of Art. Majeed has received the Leaders for a New Chicago Award, Joyce Foundation Award, Joan Mitchell Grant, and Harpo Foundation recognition. Formerly Executive Director of the South Side Community Art Center (2005–2011), he now codirects the Floating Museum, an arts collective exploring art, community, and public space. Through sculpture, he amplifies marginalized histories, people, and places, sparking dialogue and social change.
