The Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts recently celebrated its 2025–26 Distinguished Faculty and Staff Awards, recognizing faculty and staff whose work continues to strengthen the College’s culture of artistic excellence, scholarship, mentorship, and service. Hosted by Chad Eric Smith, Director of Marketing and Communications, the ceremony honored individuals across teaching, research, creative work, and institutional leadership.

The awards reflected the breadth of impact across the College, from innovative classroom instruction and nationally recognized scholarship to student mentorship, operational leadership, and community-building initiatives. Together, the honorees embody the values that continue to shape the College as a dynamic center for creativity, research, and cultural leadership.

Dean “Rocky” Monroe, Ph.D., presented the Dean’s Outstanding Achievement Awards to Assistant Dean of Administration Denise Saunders Thompson and Professor James Phillips of the Department of Art, recognizing their exceptional leadership, service, and contributions to the continued growth and excellence of the College.

Near the conclusion of the ceremony, Tammy McCants, Director of Enrollment & Academic Services within the Center for Student Success, gave out awards for each advisor on her team: Crystal Donaldson, Genesis Neely, and Iesha Washburn.
