Oh wasn’t that a mighty day, when Jesus Christ was born... Angels sang in glory, Jesus Christ is born… Christ is born in Bethlehem! Tell the story- of his glory.

Langston Hughes called this joyous musical “the Gospel Song-Play”. The production and storytelling are communal as they travel time through dance, song, scripture and poetry sharing the infamous nativity story from the African-American perspective. BLACK NATIVITY explores the beauties within the African diaspora culture and highlights the ways in which we gather and celebrate. The cast is composed of students from the Department of Theatre Arts and wider university community. Come witness their talent and partake in this extraordinary production.
