The James A. Porter Colloquium Committee seeks nominations for the 2026 James A. Porter Book Award. This years' award seeks to recognize a single-authored art history book, published within the last four years, that has made an indelible impact on the field of African American art history or art history of the African Diaspora, by deepening knowledge on artistic practice, tracing material and aesthetic networks, introducing new methodologies or interpretive frameworks. Nominations must be submitted by September 30, 2025.
