Kojo Boateng is an award-winning multidisciplinary designer and creative director from London, now living and working Washington DC. His work as a product designer includes working for Human After All, Wordeo App, VPAR Golf and currently works for Washington DC based technology company Dynaxys. He has worked for Complex Media, NPG Group, BBC, ITV and Universal Music.
He began his design career contracting for the BBC, Marie Claire and F1 Racing magazine, before joining news and multimedia company ITN.Boateng became Design Director of ITV News in 2008 and oversaw the relaunch of News at Ten. During his time at ITN he led a team of designers that pioneered the use of studio VR for television news, most notably during the 2010 UK General Election.
Boateng studied Graphic Design at the London College of Printing and Middlesex University where he received an MA in Video Production. Boateng has contributed to numerous awards including Promax/BDA Europe Award for Virtual Set Design, BAFTA: Best News Coverage 2014, The Murder of Lee Rigby, RTS Best News programme 2005-2009. His work has been featured in the Design Week, Creative Review, The Guardian, The Times and The Telegraph.
His work for ITV News is featured in the book ‘Color Works’ authored by Eddie Opara and published by Rockport. Boateng was the Programming Director for AIGA DC’s Design Week 2019.
