Jazz Vocal Workshop (Afro Blue, HU Jazz Singers, SAASy)
The Jazz Vocal Workshop was conceived by Professor Connaitre Miller. It has grown to encompass three distinct jazz voice ensembles:
Afro Blue - Howard's premier jazz vocal ensemble. See www.afrobluehu.com.
Connaitre Miller, Director
HU Jazz Singers - a mixed-voice ensemble open to all on campus.
Taylor Young, Director
SAASy - a select ensemble of female voices.
Reginald Bowens, Director
Membership in Jazz Vocal Workshop ensembles is open to all Howard University students. Auditions are held at the discretion of the director, usually at the beginning of each semester. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Connaitre Miller at ConMiller@Howard.edu.

Zoom Auditions for Fall 2021
08/18/2021 Howard University's three jazz choirs — HU Jazz Singers, SAASy and Afro Blue — will hold University-wide Zoom auditions on August 24 and August 26, 2021. Attendance on both days is required.
On Tuesday, August 24, audition materials will be distributed and taught via Zoom at 2:10 p.m. Request Zoom info from Prof. Miller at conmiller@howard.edu. *Please use your HU email address.
On Thursday, August 26, individual auditions begin at 12:30 p.m. A time will be assigned to you and communicated via email.
