Orchestra

The Orchestra has long been a staple on Howard's campus. Under the direction of Timothy Maček, it is dedicated to preserving the traditions of classical music, while upholding and showcasing works by prominent African-American composers.

Membership in the Symphony Orchestra is open to all Howard University students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as to community members of all ages. Auditions are held at the discretion of the director, usually at the beginning of each semester.

Audition requirements are the same as those for instrumental minor. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Timothy Maček at TMacek@Howard.edu.
