Accessibility

Lulu Vere Childers Hall is accessible through the front doors of the building facing the Main Yard. The accessible entrance to the building includes automatic doors and a ramp.

Parking

On-Campus Parking:

Parking on Howard University's campus parking lots is by PERMIT ONLY. Vehicles parked without a valid permit are subject to ticketing, towing, and or immobilization (at owner’s expense).

Off-Campus Metered Street Parking:

Metered street parking is available. Meters are enforced Monday–Saturday, 8am–6pm and accept credit cards in addition to coins.

Visitor Parking:

Visitor parking is available on the Howard Center Lot at a rate of $10/day and $200/month (Credit Card Only). The entrance to the Howard Center Lot is located on 8th Street, NW.

Student Parking:

Parking Registration for students takes place during allotted days during the Spring and Fall Semesters. Students are encouraged to register for parking during the allotted period.

Shuttle Services

Parking and Transportation Services (OPTS) partners with mobility service providers to offer shuttle services to students, faculty, staff and visitors to the University. Shuttle service is provided to and from Shaw Metro. Alternatively, OPTS provides information for other travel options for traveling to, from and around Main Campus, West Campus, and Howard University Hospital. Public Transportation
