Howard University's Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts Department of Theatre Arts will become a hub of the Black dramatic narrative intelligence, a haven for its legacy; and a preeminent training ground for its aesthetic and cultural activism.

Mission Statement

Howard University's Department of Theatre Arts is dedicated to the continued growth and development of the African diasporic experience through the study and practice of the theatre arts. Employing research, experimentation, production, performance and the education of emerging professionals, we nurture holistic, multi-hyphenate, collaborative, interdisciplinary dramatic arts creatives prepared to pioneer and lead aesthetic/cultural activism on the national and global stage.
